Look at Grandma-ma's teeth!

Guess what, my raviolis?  Grandma-ma had her braces taken off today.  She went in for her appointment and the dentist said it was time to take the braces off.  Look how straight Grandma-ma's teeth have gotten.

Grandma-ma is wearing a pair of clear retainers. If you look closely you can see the line of the retainer.  I will wear them for three weeks and then go visit the dentist again and they will put in a permanent retainer for me.

Here is a picture of grandma-ma's teeth before she had the braces put on.  Look how crooked they are.

Here is the first picture that was taken the day grandma-ma got her braces put on.
Look how crooked the teeth were when grandma-ma first had her braces put on.  It took 8 months to straighten grandma-ma's teeth. It was hard to eat sometimes and I had to cut my food up in small pieces like you would prepare for toddlers.  The braces did not hurt, but after each new wire that was put on, my teeth would be numb for a few days.  Now that the braces are off, grandma ma is looking forward to eating something very special.  Something that she can only get in New York.  Can you guess what it is?  It is a slice of a New York Pizza pie.  Will I get a slice when I visit the NY raviolis?  We shall see.

On my glass door.

Hello my raviolis.  Look what greeted grandma-ma on the glass door to her workplace.  A pretty butterfly.

It was big and full of brilliant colors.  What a nice way to start the day.  I hope your day is going well too.  Grandma-ma loves you all.

Tunes for Tuesday

Hello my raviolis.  This is one of grandma-ma's favorite movie songs. It is a gentle song sung from a mother to her child.  I know your mommy has sung to you when you were a baby and I bet she still sings to you.  Singing is a wonderful gift to share with those you love.

Have a wonderful day my ravs and know that grandma-ma loves you.

Penelope Pitstop

Do you know Penelope Pitstop? She is a cute speed racer who drives a cute little hot pink racing car.

Aunt Renee liked to watch Penelope Pitstop cartoons. I bet your mommy liked to watch Penelope Pitstop too.  Grandma-ma knows another Penelope Pitstop racer.  Here is her picture as she is getting ready to take the lead on the inside of the track.

Go get 'um, Miss Penelope. Grandma-ma loves you.

Tunes for Tuesday

It's another Tuesday, my raviolis and time for a Tuesday Tune.  Today I am posting a favorite of our 6-cheese ravioli.  She loves to dance and sing and she was the "hit" at Grandma-ma's and Grampy's wedding reception as she danced her way to "All the single ladies".

This tune is for you sweet Kit Kat.

Have a happy Tuesday my ravs.  Grandma-ma loves you all.

Pool Time

Everyone loves the water, my raviolis.  You, me, family, dogs and elephants!  This cute video of baby elephants enjoying their time in a baby pool is very sweet. Baylor and Tupelo look like they are having lots of fun.

Stay cool as Baylor and Tupelo and have fun in your own pools or slip and slide or hose or sprinkler or super soakers.  Love grandma-ma

Word of the Week Wednesday

It's word of the week Wednesday and today's word is a special one for Aunt Renee but also the Aurora raviolis.  As we look at the word, we will see why.

feline

Such a sweet face!

Kitties attack.  They are playing and having fun together.

You are probably asking, "Why is the word feline so special?"

Aunt Renee loves the Pink Panther!

Well, aside from the fact that this is Aunt Renee's favorite domestic animal, feline is a word that breaks down into a special spelling.  Let's look at it closer.

Fe Li Ne

Can you guess why the spelling of feline is so special?  I bet the Aurora raviolis can guess. They are studying the periodic table of elements and maybe they can name the three elements that make up a feline or cat.

Fe - Iron
Li - Lithium
Ne - Neon

So does that mean that a cat is made up of two solids and one gas?  Of course not, but it is fun to see how the word "feline" can be matched to the table of elements.  Can you find a word that can do that?  If you can, send it to grandma-ma and I will post it on your blog.

Grandma-ma loves you and thinks you are all Au.  (do you know what element Au is?)

Tunes for Tuesday

Hello my raviolis.  I think we need to have a song once a week.  So we are going to do "Tunes for Tuesday".  Music and songs are so much fun because they put a smile on our faces and make our feet want to do the happy dance.

You are all amazing raviolis and you light up my life like fireworks.  So what better first tune then Firework by Katie Perry.

Be happy with all that you have around you.  Your friends, your family and pets and all the neat things the world has to offer you. I love watching you grow and learn and laugh and setting off the sparks like real fireworks that you have inside you.  Grandma-ma loves you very much.

Now, lets sing and dance!

Aunt Renee's new cookie jar

Hello my raviolis.  Guess what? Aunt Renee has a new cookie jar. Grandma-ma was on an antique hunt and she came across this really neat cookie jar that is like the I Dream of Jeannie bottle.  It is pink and purple which means I know two raviolis who will like it because those are princess colors.

What a pretty cookie jar.  Aunt Renee saw it and said, "Give it to me."
So I did.
Guess what we found inside when we took off the top of the
Jeannie bottle cookie jar?

Was it cookies?

Nope.  It was...did you guess?

It was "Jeannie!"

She was sitting inside the cookie jar on her pretty yellow pillow.  She will watch over any cookies Aunt Renee puts inside it.

Hugs and kisses to all my raviolis.  Love Grandma-ma

Braces update

Hello my raviolis.  Grandma-ma went to the dentist on Friday and had her braces tightened again.  The dentist said that grandma-mas teeth are straightening up very nicely.  In fact, the doctor said grandma-ma's braces may come off in about 9 weeks.

Grandma-ma has to wear these rubber bands for the next three weeks. They feel funny at times.  I take them out when I eat and put new ones in after I have brushed my teeth.

Look how straight they have gotten.  This picture is of grandma-ma's teeth on the first day she had her braces put on.

I can't wait to see what they look like when they come off.  When they come off, grandma-ma will have her teeth cleaned and whitened.

I will let you know when they come off.  Have a wonderful day my raviolis.
