It's word of the week Wednesday and today's word is a special one for Aunt Renee but also the Aurora raviolis. As we look at the word, we will see why.
feline
Such a sweet face!
Kitties attack. They are playing and having fun together.
You are probably asking, "Why is the word feline so special?"
Aunt Renee loves the Pink Panther!
Well, aside from the fact that this is Aunt Renee's favorite domestic animal, feline is a word that breaks down into a special spelling. Let's look at it closer.
Fe Li Ne
Can you guess why the spelling of feline is so special? I bet the Aurora raviolis can guess. They are studying the periodic table of elements and maybe they can name the three elements that make up a feline or cat.
Fe - Iron
Li - Lithium
Ne - Neon
So does that mean that a cat is made up of two solids and one gas? Of course not, but it is fun to see how the word "feline" can be matched to the table of elements. Can you find a word that can do that? If you can, send it to grandma-ma and I will post it on your blog.
Grandma-ma loves you and thinks you are all Au. (do you know what element Au is?)
