Happy Hanukkah or Chanukah

Hello my Ravioli's and Happy Hanukkah.  Yes, today is the second day of the Festival of Lights.  Chanukah, or the Festival of Lights, is observed for eight days.  Just as you receive presents on Christmas morning, you receive eight presents during Chanukah.  This year it began on Thursday, December 11th and will run eight days thru December 19th.  So today is the second day of Chanukah and the second candle will be lit on the Menorah following sundown.

Chanukah or Hanukkah is a wonderful holiday of renewed dedication, faith, hope and spiritual light. It's a holiday that says: "Never lose hope." Chanukah was celebrated by my grandma-ma and grampy.  They were Russian Jews who came to America on a boat and came through Ellis Island.  Grandma-ma celebrates Chanukah with a Menorah and Christmas with her Advent Wreath because she has roots to both beliefs.

Here is a link to a Menorah that you may color for Chanukah.  http://www.freekidscoloring.com/images/hanukkah-menorah.pdf?x=129&y=15

You will need to color in two candles today and one for each night afterwards.  The middle or 9th branch is reserved for lighting the other candles (and is called the servant light) each night of Chanukah.  You can color each candle differently, add glitter or whatever else you think would make the candles pretty.

I hope you enjoy coloring the pretty Menorah.  Love to all of you my raviolis.  Grandma-ma
